Seasonal Support
Seasonal SupportMake the holidays special for our special mothers and children. Holidays can be difficult times for families dealing with addiction and homelessness. At Amethyst, our goal is to ensure that all of our women and children have the opportunity to celebrate their recovery efforts and experience the joy the holidays are meant to provide. We count on volunteers like you to make the generous contributions that make these annual seasonal events possible: Mother's Day “Adopt-A-Mom” Thanks for Giving Holiday Giving Volunteer Now Mother's Day “Adopt-A-Mom” The Amethyst Mother's Day “Adopt-a-Mom” initiative is designed to ensure every mom has a smile on her face on Mother's Day. Volunteers donate lotions, cosmetics, towels, and bed linens—gifts that help make our moms' special day a little more special. The gifts commemorate the day and, more importantly, they help to boost our women's self-esteem and encourage them to continue the process of recovery. Thanks For Giving Thank For Giving is an annual Amethyst tradition that allows women to meet in fellowship each November and give thanks for generosity received during the year. Volunteers donate turkeys, decorations, and other items that make the season of thanks a memorable one for our clients. Holiday Giving Through the support of generous volunteers, Amethyst can provide a Holiday gift basket for every Amethyst woman and child. Each basket is designed to give families the kind of holiday we all want to experience: a holiday filled with food, fun, family, and the comforts of home.
